Edison Chen, a Hong Kong movie actor, singer, idol, founder of CLOT and the CEO of Clot Media Division. Chen also took part in shooting the Batman movie “the Dark Night.” His handsome appearance, wealthy family as well as his own successful career attract many females’ attention.

In January 2008, Edison Chen was caught in a sex scandal when reported nude photos of Chen and more than 20 high profile female celebrities from the Hong Kong entertainment. Up to date, hundreds of nude photos have been released online.

These private photos were said to be illegally copied from Chen’s laptop when Chen sent his laptop to a computer store for repairing. This scandal was like an earthquake to Hong Kong entertainment industry as almost all the most famous female celebrities have been involved. Hong Kong police are still looking for the suspect.

On February, 4, 2008, Chen released a video on Youtube. In this video, Chen made a public apology to the female celebrities that affected, and urged people to stop sharing photos with others and to delete photos that have already been downloaded.

His newest movie has been cancelled and music tape has been delayed for publishing. Pepsi, Levi’s and Samsung are considering canceling their advertising contracts with Chen. Most female celebrities that involved in this scandal stopped their appearance in public as well as their jobs on hand.

The whole Hong Kong entertainment industry has been interrupted. The only hope right now is that the suspect can be caught and no more photos appear online.

However, even if the suspect is caught, this scandal has already caused deathblow to Chen’s career and public image.
